Liyana, Jacob Burns Film Center, Sat, 2/9: 2:30pm: This animated film from Swaziland/Qatar introduces the audience to five orphaned African children collaborating on a fairytale. When their fictional character, Liyana, comes to life, the story tracks her quest to rescue her twin brothers. Connecting the children’s imagined world with the one they live in, Liyana weaves poetic documentary scenes together with an animated story to create an inspiring tale of perseverance. Ages 10+.
